Acquisitions
Thinking about the future of your accounting practice?
MBS Group grows organically, and through the carefully selected acquisition of established UK accounting practices.
If you're starting to think about what comes next for your practice — for you, your clients and your team — we'd welcome a confidential conversation. No pressure, and no obligation.
What we're looking for
More than a client list.
We've learned that a great accounting practice is far more than a client list. It's the people, relationships, culture, systems, knowledge and trust built over many years — so that's what we look beyond the numbers for when considering an acquisition.
We're not interested in simply buying blocks of fees. We're looking for a genuine fit between people, clients, culture, values, systems and commercial model.
What we look for
- Genuine fit between people and culture
- Clients who'll be well looked after long-term
- Systems and values that fit alongside ours
- A commercial model that works for both sides
- Owners who care what happens next, not just the price
Our approach
Selling a practice is personal.
Owners care what happens to their clients, their team, their reputation and the business they've spent years building.
We know that, because we're owners too. Our approach is straightforward, commercial, confidential, respectful and human.
A confidential first conversation
An informal, private conversation about your practice, what you want for the future and whether there could be a fit. Nothing is shared without your agreement.
Getting to know each other
If it makes sense to continue, we take time to understand your people, clients, systems and the way you work — and you get to know us.
A structure that works for both sides
Every practice and every owner is different, so we agree an arrangement that reflects your plans and timing, rather than a one-size-fits-all deal.
Continuity for clients and team
A planned transition that keeps the relationships your clients value, with the support of the wider MBS team behind them.
What we've done
CJ Bookkeeping Solutions joined MBS in 2025.
In July 2025, CJ Bookkeeping Solutions joined MBS Accountants. Charlotte had built a loyal client base through a practical, personal approach, and wanted to spend more of her time looking after clients rather than carrying every responsibility of running a practice herself.
Her clients kept the relationship they valued, with the wider MBS team, systems and accounting support behind it. The principle was straightforward: keep the personal relationship while adding more depth behind it.
